This intensive course is designed to help students with little or no background in French develop the reading comprehension skills necessary for academic research. To that end, students will work on grammar, vocabulary, and reading strategies. Students will read a range of scholarly texts, a number of which will be directly drawn from their respective areas of research. Some prior experience with French highly recommended. This course will culminate in UChicago's Academic Reading Comprehension Assessment in French.
